ARGENTINA - MENDOZA TESORO DE LOS ANDES From the high altitude vineyards of Mendoza come two attractive blends that epitomise the character of wines from this superb wine producing region. The Torrontes grape, which is widely grown in Argentina, dominates the white blend with the Chardonnay adding both weight and a welcome hint of tropical fruit on the palate. Malbec, the grape for which Argentina is perhaps best known in the UK, is used to telling effect in the red, blended with Shiraz to create a robust wine with aromas of red berries and a warm, rounded palate of soft damson fruit with a hint of spice.

Malbec/ Shiraz 2008 Seductive mixed spice, delicate damson and rich bramble fruit on the nose. On the palate the wine shows a darker fruit character with more savoury overtones, and is generous and full with a soft, rounded finish. |
