FRANCE - PROVENCE DOMAINE PIQUE ROQUE.......................... The Pique Roque winery is located in Flassans in the heart of the breathtakingly beautiful Provence region and the wines made there under the guidance of Head Winemaker Max Hubbard have won several awards at the most prestigious wine competition in France, the Concours General Agricole. The estate is also listed in the 'Top 100 Vineyards in Provence' by wine writer Ian Parkin. These are the type of traditional regional wines that are all too rarely seen in the UK: beautifully made, evocative wines with real character and elegance. The rose is the archetypal Provencal all rounder: a delicate salmon-pink colour with subtle palate of nectarines, strawberries and summer fruits it ís both a great aperitif and a highly versatile food wine. The deep, resonant red has hints of ripe black berry fruit and layers of spice and soft tannins on the finish. The new sparkling rose wine represents an exciting addition to the Pique Roque range and offers a genuine alternative to cava and champagne at a commercially attractive price.
